Artist's Statement I am constantly developing artistically. Primarily I enjoy abstract realism and often get my inspiration from architecture, landscapes, water and nature. I am very excited about the possibilities when expressing myself with acrylic paints. My initial excitement in a piece comes from the process of preparing and texturing either a canvas or watercolour paper. I always start with an initial idea or inspiration and then work in many layers watching my vision unfold. For a different approach and to achieve a different effect I work directly on yupo paper and enjoy how the paint slides beneath my brayers and brushes. I have recently begun to introduce mixed media into my studio works and enjoy this new approach. I am very honoured to have my work hanging in private homes here in Canada and internationally as well as The Grail Springs Health Retreat and Wellness Spa in Bancroft.
